1966 FWD/1980 Quality "P-2" 1400/2300/200.
These rigs gave steadfast service to the U. S. Air Force for thirty years,
finally being replaced by the "P-23." Rehabbed by Quality in the
early 1980's, these rigs were the first large capacity units developed
for the U. S. Air Force, and were "state of the art" for their day.
Three hundred units were built for the U. S. Air Force, twenty-two for
the U. S. Navy, two for the U. S. Army, and one for civilian use at the
St. Louis, MO airport. At one time, eleven of these units were in
service in NC/SC. Only one remains at the N. C. Air National Guard
in Charlotte. |
