Wendell Fire Department
LADDER 116

This rig spent its first life with the Raleigh Fire Department.  Originally a 1958 open cab American LaFrance 100 foot tractor drawn aerial.  This truck served at Stations 1, 5, and 16 throughout its long career as Raleigh's only TDA.  The ALF cab was replaced with an all red Mack MC cab in 1981.  It was rehabbed in 1989, adding a crew cab and reworking the ladder.  It was auctioned by the city in 1999, and after changing hands a few times, was rehabbed by Wendell.  To our knowledge, this may be the only tractor drawn aerial currently in service in NC.
