identical Pierce Dash 2000 pumpers with Tak-4 suspensions. 1500 gpm
two-stage pumps, 750 gallons of water, 30 gallons of foam, Akron Foam
System, 6 man cab, side rollover protection, Detroit Series 60 425hp
with Allison Automatic transmission, 1000 gpm deluge gun and 500 gpm
Mercury monitor. Anticipated early summer delivery.

ELK PARK, AVERY COUNTY - Ordered a Kenworth T300/Four Guys pumper. Powered by Cat 3126 330 hp diesel
engine. Waterous 1250 gpm pump and a UPF 1000 gallon tank. Stainless
steel body with a 20 year warranty. Waterous electric intake valves, top
mount pump controls and automatic 12 strand Insta-chains. Delivery
expected July 2004. Sold by Doug Callan of Cove Creek Fire Trucks in

HIGH POINT - Receiving delivery of two new
transport capable squads and two new Suburbans for the Battalion Chiefs.

WINSTON-SALEM - Several new orders are
pending for the City of Winston-Salem.
2003 Sutphen 70'+ aerial with platform. 1500 gpm pump
and 300 gallon tank. Dual monitors in the basket, with a fixed air
supply to the bucket. Six-man raised cab roof. Detroit Series 60 with
Allison World Transmission and Jake Brake. Polished chrome Alcoa
Aluminum wheels, rescue style body with two Quick Raze lights on either
side of the body and two Quick Raze lights in the basket. Order placed
with Stevens Fire Equipment.
2003 Crimson/Spartan Gladiator with raised six-man cab.
Detroit Series 60 with Allison World Transmission. 1250 gpm Waterous
pump with 500 gallon tank. Rescue style body with hydraulic ladder rack
on curb side. Coffin style compartments on top. Truck will have two
speed lays, one trash line in the bumper, one 1.75" line in the rear
along with a 2.5" pre-connect. Capacity for 1000' of 4 inch supply line.
Special compartment for backboards.
Complete refurb of a 1981 Sutphen 65' ladder. Only
component re-used is the ladder. New Waterous pump, poly tank and new
raised roof six-man cab. This unit will return with a white cab roof and
traditional red trim. New lighting package and also a Federal Q!

FAYETTEVILLE - FFD is
slated to receive a new 75' Quint from Ferrara on or about December 23.
The unit was purchased as a demo. This will make the fourth quint (Truck
Company) in Fayetteville's line-up. Unit sold by Mike Bordeaux at Fire
Choice Fire and Safety.

ASHEBORO - AFD will receive
a Pierce Dash Rescue. 37' non-walk-in box, Series 60 Detroit Diesel
430hp engine, 40kw PTO generator, 30' light-tower, 6000# 4-stage
compressor, two hydraulic pumps, 15,000# front bumper winch, 6,000#
portable winch.

PINE KNOLL SHORES - PKSFD
will receive a Pierce Enforcer 75' Heavy Duty Ladder. 1500 gpm pump, 400
gallon water tank.

LEXINGTON - LFD will soon
receive a new Pierce Saber pumper. 12" raised roof, 1500 gpm Waterous
pump, 500 gallon tank, extra hosebed capacity.

ORANGE GROVE - OGFD has
ordered a Ferrara Side Mount Pumper on a Spartan chassis with a 1250 gpm
Hale pump and 1000 gallon water tank. Unit will have ladders with

SAMPSON COUNTY - Halls Fire
Department has placed an order for a Ferrara Pumper/Tanker on an
International four door chassis. Top mount pump, 1250 gpm and 1000
gallon tank. Delivery in early December 2003. Sold by

RALEIGH - Pierce has
reportedly been awarded a contract from the City of Raleigh for a 100'
Tractor Drawn Aerial Ladder. This order joins High Point, who has also
ordered a tiller from Pierce. The Raleigh unit will reportedly have a
pump of unknown capacity. Below is a photo-composite of what the rig
might look like in typical Raleigh trim. This photo is based on a
similar unit delivered to Fullerton, California.

GREEN VALLEY VFD, AVERY
COUNTY - Ordered a Peterbilt 330 / 4 Guys pumper/tanker. Powered by
Cummins ISC 350 hp diesel. Hale QFlo 1250 gpm pump and a UPF 1250 gallon
tank. It features a stainless steel body with a 20 year warranty. It
includes an Onan 7.5KW diesel generator, side and rear dumps controlled
for the cab and automatic snow chains. Delivery expected Jan 2004. Sold

for six, 400 HP Cummins engine, 1500 gpm hale pump with 6" electric

STOKES-ROCKINGHAM FIRE &
RESCUE (STOKES COUNTY)
- Ordered a 2003 SST Quick Attack Tanker by CSI Emergency Apparatus from
Thurston Emergency Equipment Sales, LLC of
Kernersville. The apparatus will be on a Freightliner M2
chassis with a 300HP Cat Engine. 2,000 gallon stainless steel tank and a
Hale 1000 GPM pump. The tanker will have a quick dump on each side and
the rear, booster reel mounted above the pump panel, extended front
bumper with 1.75" attack line, driver's side preconnect, ladder rack and
many other features. Delivery is expected in December 2003. The unit
will be displayed at the Piedmont Fire Seminar, Winston-Salem, NC in
January 2004.

- Ordered a Seagrave engine through Custom Fire and Safety. The unit
will seat six, have a 1,000 gallon booster tank, full depth compartments
and a 1,500 gpm Waterous pump.

- Holly Springs Public Safety will travel to Texas and bring back a used
55' telesquirt for the department.

- Update: good news reference Raleigh's new American LaFrance pumpers on
order. While the units will be on the Metropolitan chassis, it will be
the new design, which is styled very similarly to the Eagle
design.

ENFIELD (HALIFAX COUNTY) - Has received a
Pierce rescue truck mounted on a Kenworth T-300 four door cab with
seating for five. Powered by a Cummins 315hp engine and Allison MD 3060
automatic transmission. It has an 18' foot Encore rescue body which
includes a "spacesaver" fill station and four 6000 PSI cascade bottles.
It also has a 25 KW Onan PTO generator which can supply power to a Wil-Burt
Night Scan 9000 watt light tower and six 750 watt alpha 2000 lights on
the body. The unit is also equipped with two Halmatro electric simo
pumps and a full range of extrication equipment.

Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department is expecting the delivery of a new
Rescue Pumper in December 2003. The 2003 Smeal Rescue Pumper will be on
an International 4400 w/ 1000 gal tank and a 1250 gpm Hale pump.
Features include high side compartments will roll-up doors, 15KW
Harrison generator, hydraulic ladder rack, Will-Burt light tower and

ROCKY MOUNT - RMFD is looking forward to
their delivery of their new pumper as part of a two year contract with
Smeal Fire Apparatus. The truck will be a 2003 Custom Pumper on a
Spartan Gladiator chassis. It will carry 750 gallons of water with a
1250 gpm Waterous pump. Custom features include high side compartments
with roll up doors, hydraulic ladder rack, hosebed capacity 400' of
1.75" line, 800' of 2.5" line, 1000' of 3" line and 1500' of 5" supply
line.

CHARLOTTE - They City of Charlotte has entered into a five year pumper
contract with Smeal Fire Apparatus. There are three different types of
pumpers in this contract:
- 500 gal tank w/ 30 gal foam cell and 1500 gpm
Waterous pump
- 750 gal tank w/ 30 gal foam cell and 1500 gpm
Waterous pump
- 500 gal tank w/ 30 gal foam cell and 2000 gpm
Waterous pump
All units are on a Spartan Gladiator chassis with
Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine. Features include high side compartments
with ROM doors, dual ladder racks, 135 cubic feet of hose bed storage,
Fee-con Foam System, LED lighting packages and 10KW generators.
The first four trucks are to be delivered in June 2003.

DALLAS (GASTON COUNTY) - Agriculture Center
has placed an order for a 105' Smeal Heavy Duty aerial ladder. They will
take delivery of what will be the largest ladder in Gaston County next
January.

CARY - New Pierce 105' tower ladder is due in between May 24 - 28. This
will replace the current 1983 Pierce Arrow tower ladder.

CHAPEL
HILL - Ordered a HME/KME for Engine 34. The Town also expects to order a
new aerial platform in two years.

BUIES
CREEK (HARNETT COUNTY) - Expecting a 2003 Pierce Enforcer 1500/750
(Pierce job number 14124) early next week. Unit will be assigned as
Engine 822.

RALEIGH -
An order has been placed with American LaFrance for two Metropolitan
pumpers. Delivery is due Nov-Dec 2003.

RALEIGH -
Specifications are being prepared for a new ladder truck. This will
reportedly be a tiller, possibly with a tank and pump. Currently, there
are only two tillers in service in the Carolinas: one in Wendell (former
Raleigh unit) and Truck 6 in Hilton Head.
