Presentation Made to Charlotte Honor Guard

CHARLOTTE - On February 20,
2004 The Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation was proud to present a
donation of $1000 to The Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) Honor Guard
to be used in the purchase of a complete CFD Honor Guard Uniform and
additional equipment for the CFD Pipes and Drums.
The Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation selected the
CFD Honor Guard since the Coakley
family unfortunately has experienced the full extent of the Honor
Guard services. One example is when Kara returned from New York one
week after the tragedy and she couldn’t find an American flag to fly
in honor and hope for her brother.
The CFD Honor Guard gathered in her front yard and
ceremoniously presented her with the American flag that flew over CFD
Station #1.
The Firefighter Steven Coakley Foundation is announcing
its largest fundraising event to date, The First Annual F.F. Steven
Coakley Foundation Golf Tournament presented by Dunkin’ Donuts. This
event will be held on April 28, 2004 at Regent Park Golf Course and is
open to the public. For more information contact the foundation
directly at 704.752.8601 or visit our website
