CARRBORO - At 10:40 a.m. the Carrboro Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire located at 121 Westview Drive (Brighton Square Condos).  Upon the arrival of the first fire units there was heavy fire on both floors of the two story condominium.

Three condos received extensive fire damage, one unit received smoke and water damage.  Two other condos received smoke damage but are still habitable.  The occupants in two of the units were not insured.  Strategies to assist these occupants are in the planning stages.  More information on how citizens can assist these victims will be announced later.

There were not any injuries to the occupants or to firefighters.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  Damage estimates are not available at this time.
