New Fire Department Names in Wake County

Published TUE APR 15
WAKE COUNTY - Scanner listeners in the Triangle will be hearing a new name on the radio.

Knightdale Public Safety, which protects the Town of Knightdale, has been assigned Wake County Fire Station Number 13. This number was previously assigned to the Knightdale Volunteer Fire Department, whose original station is also located within the town.

The Knightdale Volunteer Fire Department will now be known as Eastern Wake Fire Department. Their Station 2 on Clifton Road has been assigned Wake County Fire Station Number 38. The original Station 1 on Hester Street will be considered Eastern Wake Station 2. No county station number has yet been assigned, but the next number on the list is Station 46.
