Firefighter Dies After House Fire

BLOWING ROCK -
Firefighter Douglas Bruce
Coffey, age 51, died on Wednesday, July 23, 2003.
Firefighter Coffey was a 16 year veteran of the fire
service. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 15:20 hours.
Firefighter Coffey died from an apparent heart attack
after returning home from working a residential structure fire.
