CAROLINAS FIRE PAGE notifications can now be delivered to any email enabled device (pager, cell phone, personal digital assistant) or email account.

    CFP continues our relationship with Arch Paging and Metrocall as our preferred messaging device vendors.  This means any new account will continue to receive our group discount rate.  Current members will also receive unlimited personal paging at no additional cost.

    There is no longer any need to have a specific style pager on any specific frequency.  The paging companies will no longer handle programming; instead, CFP will handle all setup and programming issues.  This means orders can be filled without delay if you already have a device.

CFP service is available to any of the following devices:

A one-way pager from Arch or Metrocall.  The pager does not necessarily need to be acquired through CFP.  If you already have a pager with either company, you can receive CFP.  For details on service with Arch visit www.arch.com; for Metrocall visit www.metrocall.com.  CFP members are eligible to receive unlimited personal paging.  If you already have an alphanumeric pager, you will be able to keep your existing phone number.

An alphanumeric enabled cell phone, such as Nextel or Sprint PCS.  Be sure to check with your cell provider about the amount of text messaging your plan allows.  CFP is not responsible for any overcalls you may incur with our service.  Nextel now offers many low cost plans with unlimited messaging.

A wireless personal digital assistant (PDA) with an email address.  Examples include Blackberry or PalmVII devices.

A two-way pager.  For sample devices, visit www.my2way.com or www.earthlink.net/t900.  Many new plans allow for unlimited messaging.

A one-way or two-way alphanumeric pager through paging providers other than Arch or Metrocall.  Be sure to check with your provider about the amount of text messaging your plan allows.  CFP is not responsible for overcalls you may incur with our service.

A valid email address.  If you have an AOL account, you may want to create a new screen name to use.  If you have a yahoo, hotmail or other free email account, we cannot guarantee delivery if your email box becomes full.
